Kathleen Wynne joins orientation event
The Faculty of Arts and Science School of Policy Studies welcomed a special guest to campus Friday as part of the MPA Student Orientation.
Following a welcome by School of Policy Studies Acting Director Professor Eugene Lang, former Ontario Premier gave the keynote address Doing Big Things in Government during the orientation event held at the Tett Centre. She was introduced by Associate Dean (Graduate) James Fraser.
Wynne is a former Canadian politician who served as the 25th premier of Ontario and leader of the Ontario Liberal Party from 2013 to 2018. She was member of provincial parliament (MPP) for Don Valley West from 2003 to 2022.
She spoke a capacity crowd of nearly 100 people on topics including the Experimental Lakes Area, Hydro One, the sex education curriculum, and full day kindergarten – key topics while she was the leader of the province.
The day wrapped up with two more presentations by Professor Emeritus Robert Wolfe and Adjunct Professor Don Drummond.
