Queen’s University collects, uses, retains, protects, discloses and disposes of personal information in the course of fulfilling its legislated mandate under the Queen’s University Royal Charter, 1841 (as amended) and in accordance with Ontario’s Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) and other applicable legislation.
What is Personal Information?
Personal Information is defined in FIPPA as recorded information about an identifiable individual. An individual's personal information includes information regarding race, gender, home address, medical history, education history, identifying numbers (e.g., SIN, student number), financial information, employment history, personal opinions, completed assignments and exams, and grades, comments and evaluations provided by an instructor.
