QUAlerts

QUAlerts is the university’s campus emergency alert system that uses text message, text–to-voice, and email to share emergency messages with the Queen’s community.

Get emergency text messages from Queen’s

When there is an emergency on campus, you need information fast.

These alerts may include:

  • Police or security incidents

  • Building emergencies

  • Severe weather affecting campus

  • Other urgent safety situations

The fastest way to receive these alerts is by SMS text message or text-to-voice call. Sign up now.

All students, faculty, and staff automatically receive QUAlerts by email through their Queen’s NetID email, but signing up for SMS text messages or text-to-voice calls takes less than a minute and will help ensure you don’t miss critical safety information when it matters most.

What is Alertable?

Alertable is the technology that powers QUAlerts.

When you sign up for text or voice alerts, you may see the name Alertable. This is the secure service provider Queen’s uses to deliver emergency messages.

You are only signing up for Queen’s University emergency alerts.

Do I need the Alertable app to receive alerts?

No. You do not need the app to receive QUAlerts by email, SMS text message, or text-to-voice call.

Signing up for text and voice alerts is the most important step to ensure you receive urgent safety messages.

The Alertable app is optional. It allows you to expand your alert preferences by including a wider array of alerts from other locations. For example, you can sign up to receive alerts from national weather services and from federal, provincial, and municipal governments, but the app is not required to receive Queen’s emergency notifications.

Is the SeQure App the same as Alertable?

SeQure is a different, complimentary app that provides an array of security resources including the ability to report issues of concern to Campus Security and Emergency Services â€“ but it is not the same as QUAlerts, and does not have the same functionality. To be notified quickly of emergencies and what to do, you should sign up for QUAlerts text alerts.
