Two streams for this session are taught together. One stream is for employees, focusing on developing personal resilience, recognizing your automatic responses to stress, and choosing healthier strategies. The other stream is for students, who will move from surviving to thriving, by developing personal and academic resilience. Both of these streams, provide participants with excellent takeaway resources, as well as a participant handbook to follow along with and reflect on in the future.

The Great Wisdom Institute nuns will be hosting a 1-hour and 30-minute mindfulness session to refresh and energize you and to bring mindfulness into your daily life. The Great Wisdom Buddhist Institute is a monastery for approximately 500 Buddhist nuns in Prince Edward Island, Canada. Their mission is to bring peace and positivity to the world through practices of wisdom and compassion. Mindfulness is a critical practice at the monastery. Their daily routine focuses on gratitude, positive thinking and self-discipline.

Queen鈥檚 Observatory Tour

Participants will have access to the Queen's Observatory facilities which include the main Celestron 14鈥 telescope, small solar telescopes, and the video screening room. Astronomers in the screening room and Observatory dome will present the foundations of astronomical research, Observatory operations, and hot topics in astrophysics (such as recent discoveries with the James Webb Space Telescope). Weather permitting, observations of the Sun will also be made using telescopes on the outdoor deck. Join us for this enjoyable event, we hope to see you there!
