Queen’s University presents Science Rendezvous Kingston – bringing science out of the lab and into the community

This Saturday, May 9 marks the return of Science Rendezvous Kingston, one of Canada’s longest running and successful science, technology, engineering and mathematics pop-up discovery centres. The family-friendly and free event brings together the Kingston community with local Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math experts (STEM), and Queen’s researchers.
Faculty, staff, and students from Queen’s University, along with community partners will provide visitors with hands-on demonstrations, awe-inspiring exhibits, and fun experiments. A total of 60 interactive booths will feature a wide range of activities and interactive displays.

Special Attractions:
- 10:30 am – Smashing Strawberries: watch as real DNA is extracted from strawberries
- Noon – Phenomenal Physics: exploring the power of magnetism and motion
- 2 pm – Chemistry Magic Show: everyday substances are transformed through colourful reactions, flashes and fizzes
Accessibility Feature: The Sensory Friendly Science Zone returns, offering a calming space with exclusive activities such as a wave tank and a fossil dig sandbox – designed to support visitors with sensory processing needs.
Getting There: Free parking is available at Fort Henry, with a complimentary Kingston Trolley providing transportation to and from Slush Puppie Place between 9:30 am and 3 pm.
