Wednesday July 8, 2026
11:30 am - 12:30 pm

Build confidence, resilience, and adaptability by learning how to shift from fixed thinking to a growth mindset that supports continuous learning and professional development. A growth mindset is the belief that abilities and skills can be developed through effort, learning, feedback, and persistence. In contrast, a fixed mindset can lead individuals to avoid challenges, feel discouraged by setbacks, or believe that certain abilities cannot be improved.

Participants will explore the key principles of a growth mindset and reflect on how mindset influences learning, problem-solving, feedback, and professional development. Participants will also learn strategies to recognize fixed mindset triggers, reframe limiting thoughts, and use growth-oriented language, including the powerful practice of adding 鈥測et鈥 to statements such as 鈥淚 can't do this.鈥

Queer Song Circle: Singing for Connection and Wellbeing

Tuesday June 30, 2026
12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Location

Mackintosh-Corry Hall, B176 Seminar Room

Come sing for joy, connection, and wellbeing in this welcoming song circle. No musical experience is required, and allies are warmly welcome. Join us over the lunch hour for a welcoming Queer Song Circle focused on joy, connection, and wellbeing. Song circles are community singing groups where participants come together to sing for the experience of connection, not for performance or perfection. No singing experience is required, and participants do not need to know how to read music. All songs will be taught in a call-and-response style, making the session accessible and easy to join.

This in-person session invites participants to experience singing as a shared practice that can support belonging, self-expression, and emotional wellbeing. In a world where queer voices have often been quieted or silenced, gathering together to use and raise our voices can be a meaningful act of connection, community, and care.
