Stay informed with QUAlerts: Queen’s emergency notification system

In February 2025, Queen’s University launched QUAlerts, an emergency notification system designed to keep students, faculty, and staff informed during urgent situations. The system offers the following features:
- Automatic Email Notifications: All Queen’s community members in Kingston with an active Queen’s email account will automatically receive QUAlerts by email.
- Users can also in addition to email. Doing so will automatically send a text message to your smartphone in the event of an emergency. Users can also register additional phone numbers to receive alerts (including parents and family members).
- Customize Your Alerts: To ensure you never miss an important message, download the Alertable app. With the app, you can:
- Override silent mode so alerts are heard even when your phone is muted.
- Choose to receive alerts in multiple languages.
- Personalize how and what types of alerts you receive.
QUAlerts does not store any personal data. The system only uses a distribution list that is updated daily and securely retained in Canada.
