The Employee Experiences Survey will run from January 14 to February 4, 2026.
On January 14, the university will invite employees to participate in its next Employee Experiences Survey. Taking about 10 minutes to complete, the survey is a key tool for gathering insight into workplace culture across the institution. Understanding employee experiences and acting on that feedback is central to the university鈥檚 ongoing efforts to strengthen organizational culture.
The survey will examine engagement outcomes and workplace drivers such as communication and role clarity, progress in institutional priority areas observed since 2022, and demographic insights that support a deeper understanding of employee experiences.
鈥淭his year鈥檚 survey has been updated to include a more focused set of questions with a shorter completion time, making it easier for employees to share their perspectives,鈥 says Lisa Walsh, Associate Vice-Principal (Human Resources). 鈥淗earing directly from employees is essential to helping us strengthen workplace culture and understand where continued attention and action are needed.鈥
On the day the survey opens, employees will receive a notice from Principal and Vice-Chancellor Patrick Deane, followed by an email invitation with a link to complete the survey. The survey period will be open for three weeks, closing on February 4, 2026.
鈥淭he survey is an important opportunity to better understand how people experience their work and their sense of belonging across the university,鈥 says Stephanie Simpson, Vice-Principal (Culture, Equity, and Inclusion). 鈥淎s part of our ongoing commitments, my portfolio will also consider the experiences of employees who identify as equity-deserving to help inform efforts to build a more inclusive, supportive, and engaged workplace for everyone.鈥
The survey will once again be administered by an experienced external provider, Metrics@Work, and responses will be confidential. Results will be shared at the faculty and portfolio level, with high-level findings shared with the broader Queen鈥檚 community later in 2026.
