Queen鈥檚 University's Data Visualization Guidelines outline standards and best practices for presenting data clearly, accurately, and consistently across charts, graphs, tables, and dashboards.
The guideline provide guidance on:
- colour options, including primary, secondary, and grey palettes, and how to use them according to chart type
- chart types and when to use them
- typography
- units and abbreviations
- dashboard layouts
Newly launched in February 2026, some next steps for the University Relations team includes developing some templates to make the guidelines simpler to apply across our digital data platforms.
