Thinking about law school but not sure what to expect? Join us for an honest and engaging panel discussion designed for anyone considering a legal career.

Hear directly from two current Queen's Law students and a recent Queen's Law alum as they share real insights about the law school experience—from the classroom to internships, networking, and life beyond graduation. This conversation will go beyond brochures and rankings to explore what law school is actually like, including workload, culture, challenges, opportunities, and how to know if it’s the right path for you.

Topics will include:

  • The academic rigor and expectations of law school
  • Managing stress and maintaining balance
  • Building meaningful connections with professors and peers
  • Internships, clerkships, and career pathways
  • Common misconceptions about becoming a lawyer
  • Advice they wish they had known before applying

Meet our Panelists

Gabe Mollot-Hill, Law'26: Gabe is a current 3L student and the President of the (LSS) - the student government at Queen's Law. After spending his formative years in Ottawa, Gabe attended University in the United States on a hockey scholarship at Providence College. Following the end of this athletics career and a brief foray into a (quickly abandoned) master's in data science, he pivoted to law and began his time at QL in the fall of 2023. His preferred area of practice is union-side labour law, and he will begin his articling term at Goldblatt Partners, a firm in his field, this summer. 

Kate McCuaig, Law'28: Kate is a current 1L at Queen's Law and serves as a Law School Senator within the Queen's Law Student Society. Originally from Toronto, she has happily called Kingston home throughout both her undergraduate and legal education at ³ÉÈË´óƬ. She completed her undergraduate degree in Political Studies. It was during that time that she served as president of the (AMS), the overarching student government for over 20,000 undergraduate students at the school.

Olivia Kuzmich, Law'25: Olivia is an Associate at Houser Henry & Syron LLP in Toronto. She was called to the Ontario Bar in June 2025 and graduated from Queen's Law in 2024. Olivia began her legal career at a national law firm as a summer articling student, where she gained experience in a wide range of practice areas, including corporate law and litigation. Her practice now focuses primarily on corporate, commercial, and employment law. 

Prior to law school, Olivia attended the University of Toronto and majored in Ethics, Society and Law and Political Science. During her time at Queen's Law, Olivia was actively involved in the law school community, including the Queen's Law Journal, Queen's Legal Aid, the Queen's Family Law Clinic, and she served as President of the Queen's Law Student Society.
