The Major Fellowships for Graduates of Queen鈥檚 University support exceptional woman-identifying graduates to pursue advanced study, research, or transformative endeavours that advance knowledge, contribute to society, or enable creative expression. Through the Jean Royce Fellowship, the Marty Memorial Fellowship, and the Alfred Bader Fellowship in Memory of Jean Royce, recipients are empowered to take the next bold step in their academic or professional journey.

How do I know if I am eligible for these awards?
- Individuals who identify as women and are graduates of Queen鈥檚 or will have completed all of the requirements for a Queen's degree by the Spring Convocation 2026 are eligible to apply.
- If you are applying as a student enrolled in a graduate program with no prior Queen鈥檚 degree, you must provide notification of successfully defending by April 1, 2026.
Do I need to indicate which award I am applying for?
No, there is one application to be considered for all three awards. By submitting an application, you are applying for all three awards.
What is considered a complete application?
Completed submissions must include:
- Complete application form, including but not limited to:
- Contact information and signature
- Statement of Interest and Personal Impact (800 word-limit)
- Proposal Summary Statement (800 word- limit)
- Description of how your proposal advances knowledge, contributes to society or allows creative expression (800 word-limit)
- Queen's student transcript
- Two (2) letters of reference that speak to your proposed project or research

What happens if I submit an incomplete application online?
An incomplete application is considered missing required information or supporting documentation and will not be considered by the selection committee. However, it is acceptable to submit supporting documentation by email if all the application questions have been completed online.
If sending by email, applicants should collect all supporting documents and send them in a single email to the Alumni Officer, Lindsey Kull, ahead of the application deadline.
Only complete applications received by 10 am on March 16, 2026, will be reviewed by the selection committee. No late applications or supporting documents will be accepted.
Do I need to pay for and submit an official transcript with my application
No, you may submit your unofficial transcript in your application. Additional information about how to secure a copy of your transcript can be found on the Registrar & Financial Aid Services webpage under Academic Info.
Who should I reach out to for reference letters?
- Applicants are encouraged to choose referees who can best speak to their readiness, impact, and alignment with the proposed project, rather than selecting references based solely on professional status.

Are reference letters in accepted in languages other than English?
As we are an English-language university, unfortunately, the Advancement Office does not have the capacity to translate letters of reference for committee member review; reference letters must be submitted in English.
When will I know if my application is successful?
All applicants will be notified of results by early May 2026.
