In celebration of International Women’s Day, you are invited to a special virtual event, Leading with Purpose: Women and the Evolving World of Business, bringing together voices from across the Smith School of Business community. This gathering will highlight the growth, achievements, and lived experiences of women at every stage of their professional journeys â€” from student leaders and young alumni to established professionals shaping their industries. 

Through an engaging panel conversation driven by your questions, we will explore career pathways, challenges, and opportunities influencing women in business today.

Moderator: Dr. Lynnette Purda, Dean (Interim), Smith School of Business                                                                     

In addition to her role as Dean, Dr. Lynnette Purda is also a Professor and RBC Fellow of Finance, as well as a Chartered Financial Analyst with industry investment banking experience. Her primary research area is corporate finance with a focus on governance and corporate fraud. 

She is a dedicated teacher, having taught in many programs at the undergraduate and graduate level at Smith.

Kristine Robinson

 

Kristine Robinson, BCom’15, is a Principal on the Private Capital Solutions team at PJT Park Hill and founder of Women in Private Capital Canada. Kristine holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Smith School of Business and a Master of Applied Economics from Johns Hopkins University. 

 

 

 

Stacey Madge

 

Stacey Madge, BCom ’93, is a Board Director of Sun Life Financial. Stacey serves on the Advisory Board of Georgian Partners, recently served as President of Visa Canada, and is a former partner at McKinsey & Company. In 2021, Stacey was recognized among Canada’s Most Powerful Women by the Women’s Executive Network.

 

 

 

Emma Moriarty

 

Emma Moriarty, Comm’26, is co-chair of Queen’s Women in Leadership (QWIL). QWIL is a supportive space where all members of the Queen’s community can engage in impactful, equity-driven conversations. Originally from Saint John, New Brunswick, Emma is returning to the East Coast after graduation to pursue a career in Human Resources.
