Andrew presented his latest research on 'Development towards telecom C-band single photon emission from deterministically positioned nanowire quantum dot sources' at the International Conference on the Physics of Semiconductors held in Ottawa. There he had the opportunity to talk with world leaders in semiconductor physics. Congratulations on the great talk!

Jennifer was the NUCLEUS (CREATE grant) program officer and laboratory manager for the Shastri Lab and the Quantum Nanophotonics Lab. Jennifer has a history in scientific research and research administration at several Canadian academic institutions (Queen鈥檚 University, the Royal Military College, The University of Winnipeg, and the University of Manitoba) and associated research institutions (The Manitoba Institute for Materials, and the Arthur B. McDonald Canadian Astroparticle Physics Research Institute). In her spare time, Jennifer can be found enjoying quality time with her family, or at the barn with her horse.

Juan is an undergraduate physics student from Colombia who joined the group in the summer of 2024 through the MITACS Global Research Internship (GRI) program. His role involves supporting research on near-deterministic on-chip operation of single photon sources. Juan's primary interests lie in quantum many-body physics and applying machine learning techniques to study these systems, with the goal of advancing quantum technologies. Outside of academia, Juan is very active and enjoys music, cooking, hiking, and continually learning new things.
