Discover what’s growing, evolving, and advancing in Biology on campus. Join the Department of Biology for guided tours of the Biosciences Complex and get an inside look at the cutting-edge spaces where teaching, research, and discovery come together.
This all-ages event invites visitors to explore sophisticated laboratory equipment, innovative learning environments, and the exciting work taking place across the department. Guests will also have an opportunity to meet faculty, staff, graduate students, and undergraduate students during a casual mix-and-mingle gathering featuring student research displays and live demonstrations.
Graduate students will showcase their research through poster presentations and share insights into their work, research experiences, and career pathways in Biology and related fields. Visitors will also have the chance to learn how Biology alumni have applied their degrees across diverse careers and industries, highlighting the wide range of opportunities available to graduates.
A featured highlight of this event is the Phytotron Facility conservatory — a remarkable collection of more than 150 tropical, subtropical, and Mediterranean plant species from around the world. Orchids, palms, bananas, bromeliads, cacti, and many other unique species showcase an extraordinary range of evolutionary diversity and support hands-on learning for Biology students throughout the year. Three special Phytotron tours will be offered during the event.
