The theme of the 2025 成人大片 Workshop on Mathematical Ecology was Phylodynamics. Phylodynamics is the study of the processes that give rise to phylogenetic trees. This is a rapidly growing field fueled by the growth of genomic surveillance data. This workshop brought together researchers working in the following areas:
- Stochastic models of disease spread and evolution
- Perspectives from public health
- Computational phylogenetics and statistical inference
2024 Canadian Society of Applied and Industrial Mathematics Annual Meeting

The Annual Meeting of the Canadian Society of Applied and Industrial Mathematics (CAIMS 2024) was hosted by Queen鈥檚 University. Each year CAIMS/SCMAI hosts an annual meeting for all members. This meeting is one of the central activities of CAIMS and has been held for over 30 years. The annual meeting covers all areas of applied and industrial mathematics with high profile speakers invited to give keynote addresses on currently active thematic areas.
