Macromedia Berlin film students Robin Csod贸 and Pavel Penev are visiting Queen鈥檚 this Fall 2025 semester, working on documentaries with principle investigator Professor Jennifer Ruth Hosek (LLCU, cross-appointed FILM and GNDS). This film collective is shining a light on gig-based delivery in Kingston. Queen鈥檚 SCCS graduate student Andrei Pora is assisting and other interested students are invited to join the documentary project. MITACS and Queen鈥檚 are funding this international exchange.

Csod贸, Hosek, Penev, Pavel Pantin (Macromedia), and Olivia Wiley (Queen鈥檚) collaborated on Dabbawala Berlin: bicycle stories, with the financial support of the German Academic Exchange Service and Queen鈥檚. Unfortunately, none of the Berlin protagonists, notably Anzal Kareem and Satya Agape鈥攊nternational student workers鈥攚ill be able to come to Kingston, primarily due to visa restrictions.

Csod贸, Hosek, and Penev will screen Dabbawala Berlin at the LLCU Faculty Seminar on Wednesday, November 5 from 10-11 AM in Kingston Hall, offering the Queen's community an opportunity to view their collaborative work before the new Kingston-focused project begins.
