Prof. Isabelle St-Amand, QNS in Francophone Indigenous Literatures, is now conducting a SSHRC Insight Development research project “A Disconnect in Understanding: Theorizing our Collaborative Research Practices in the Field of Indigenous Cinema” (2025-2027) with co-investigators André Dudemaine and Marion Konwanénhon Delaronde. The project aims to offer a theoretical contribution to the field of Indigenous studies by drawing on, developing and refining insights gathered from sustained experiences of collaborative community-based research conducted for over a decade, including the international conference Revisioning the Americas through Indigenous Cinema. A Call for Papers will be send in February 2026 for the 9th conference on Aug. 9-11, 2026, in Montréal and Kahnawà:ke.
