An exhibition curated by graduate students of ARTH865 (Prof. Antonia Behan): Kaelyn Banse, Mackenzie Fitzpatrick, Amelia Mackenzie, Marisa Mitchell, Beatrice Moritz, and Abbey Skopelianos.

Inspired by the ideas of William Morris (1834–1896), Hopes and Fears for Art explores how artists around the world turned to craft as a way of questioning industrial modernity and imagining more humane futures. Featuring books, pamphlets, and printed works from W.D. Jordan Rare Books and Special Collections, the exhibition traces the global reach of the Arts and Crafts movement and how its ideals took distinct local forms. The exhibition asks what it means to make with intention, and why those questions continue to matter.

The exhibition will be on view from January through May 2026, and we warmly encourage you to visit during opening hours Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm
