The Swipe it Forward (SIFQ) program provides students in financial need with short-term, urgent support for access to nutritious meals (access to Queen's dining halls). Short-term can be defined as up to 6 to 8 weeks. It is meant to support food insecurity which according to Health Canada is “The inability to acquire or consume an adequate diet quality or sufficient quantity of food in socially acceptable ways, or the uncertainty that one will be able to do so.”
Visit our Centre at 207 Stuart Street 3rd floor weekdays 9am-4pm or email us at yellowhouse@queensu.ca to discuss a referral to the SIFQ program. Our team commits to acknowledging and fulfilling your request as fast as we can within the following timelines:
- We will acknowledge to your request within 3 business days (email or verbal response)
- Once we confirm your eligibility for this program, we will send a request to load meals to your account to the SIFQ team (we will do this within 3 business days)
- The SIFQ teams confirms and loads meals to your account within 3 business days
- Please note our team is not able to fulfil same-day requests and will work as fast as we can to support you.
- Although we try to process requests in a timely manner, please expect the entire process from initial outreach to meals loaded to take up to 9 business days
