Assessment Course Overview

RARC offers a 12-module asynchronous online course designed to enhance knowledge and skills in standardized assessment practices related to high-incidence neurodevelopmental disabilities, including Learning Disabilities (LD), Intellectual Disabilities (ID), Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), across educational settings.

Note: This course is non-accredited. Therefore, completion of this course does not provide formal qualification towards a specific field of study. Participants who successfully complete/pass the course requirements will receive a certificate of completion.

Eligibility Requirements

Participants must meet the following requirements:

  • Location: Practicing and/or studying to become a psychological practitioner in Ontario, Canada.
  • Education: Has educational training and practicum/work experience in the administration and interpretation of psychometric tools.
  • Professional Status:
    • Must fall into at least one of the following categories:
      • Registered with competencies in School Psychology, Clinical Psychology, and/or Neuropsychology
      • Working under the supervision of a registered practitioner with the appropriate competency
      • Registered in a graduate clinical psychology program

Refund and Deferral Policy

Participants may request a partial refund or a one-time deferral according to the following schedule:

  • Deferral: Transfer to the next cohort at no additional cost
  • Refund: 80% of course fee

  • Deferral: Transfer to the next cohort at no additional cost
  • Refund: No refunds available

  • No refunds or deferrals will be provided

No. This course is intended to enhance assessment practices for professionals who already have training and experience in test administration and interpretation, and who are conducting assessments independently or under supervision.

No. This is a non-accredited professional development course and does not count toward formal academic qualifications or professional registration requirements.

No, participants do not strictly need a Master鈥檚 degree to take this course. However, participants either need to be registered with the College of Psychologists and Behavioural Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO), working under the supervision of a CPBAO-registered professional, or a graduate student in an Ontario Clinical Psychology program. The participant must also have relevant background training and experience in assessment practices. Please see the Course Outline for the eligibility requirements.

No, participants do not strictly need to be a practicing Clinical Psychologist. However, this course is intended for professionals practicing in, training toward, or working under supervision within Clinical Psychology, School Psychology, and/or Neuropsychology settings. Please see the Course Outline for the eligibility requirements.

Yes. At this time, the course is only available to individuals who are currently practicing and/or studying in Ontario, Canada.

No. The course is fully asynchronous. Participants can complete recorded lectures and learning activities at their own pace within their registered 4-month cohort period.

Participants will have access to the course for the duration of their registered 4-month cohort:

  • Fall Cohort: September to December
  • Winter Cohort: January to April

Course access ends at the conclusion of the 4-month cohort period.
