    Description:

What role does nature play in supporting our health, and how can we engage with it more intentionally in our everyday lives?

In this session, ecological horticulturist and Master Gardener Astrid Muschalla will explore how emerging research is reshaping our understanding of the connection between nature, the senses, and overall wellbeing. Drawing on both science and lived experience, Astrid will share how engaging with gardens and natural environments can support mental, physical, and emotional health.

Rooted in ecological gardening practices, this session will highlight how Master Gardeners contribute to building healthier individuals and more connected, resilient communities. Participants will be invited to reflect on their own relationship with the natural world and consider simple, practical ways to engage more meaningfully—whether through gardening or everyday interactions with nature.

    Thrive 365 Alignment

This session supports Thrive 365 by strengthening Environmental Wellness, Personal Wellness, and Belonging & Social Connection. It encourages participants to reconnect with the natural world, explore the role of sensory engagement in wellbeing, and recognize how community-based learning and stewardship contribute to healthier, more sustainable environments.
