Are graphic novels 鈥渓iterature鈥? Can comic books be art? Can they teach us something? The answer to all of these questions, obviously, is 鈥測es.鈥 This course will look at comics and graphic novels from their origins to the present day spanning different genres and themes. We will look at how they work, why they work, and why we read them.
