Land Acknowledgement

The Faculty of Law at Queen鈥檚 University is situated on traditional Anishinaabe and Haudenosaunee Territory. To acknowledge this traditional territory is to recognize its longer history, one predating the establishment of the earliest European colonies. It is also to acknowledge this territory鈥檚 signi铿乧ance for the Indigenous peoples who lived, and continue to live, upon it 鈥 people whose practices and spiritualities were tied to the land and continue to develop in relationship to the territory and its other inhabitants today. The Kingston Indigenous community continues to re铿俥ct the area鈥檚 Anishinaabek and Haudenosaunee roots. There is also a signi铿乧ant M茅tis community and there are First Peoples from other Nations across Turtle Island present here today.

The Academic Calendar is a comprehensive publication of Faculty and relevant Senate approved regulations and policies pertaining to the Juris Doctor, the combined programs and the Civil Law-Common Law degree programs. It provides information relevant to law students about the structure of faculty governance, contact information for faculty members and staff, admission requirements, academic regulations, information about programs and courses of study, degree requirements and policies pertaining to the determination of academic standing in the degree programs and processes for seeking permission to study on a letter of permission.
