The shy pianist thinks about the notes,
as he sits on his porch, waiting for the raccoon
to come take his nocturnal meal, while darting bats
allegro and swoop and trill the night,
their invisible radar, almost a divine song,
the way it dips and soars a sad goodbye 鈥
