I finished the jigsaw in the late morning and went out for a walk in the rain before lunch. The painting used for the puzzle was William Dyce鈥檚 Pegwell Bay, Kent 鈥 A Recollection of October 5th, 1858, painted in 1858鈥59. It鈥檚 one I鈥檝e known for years, and it always makes me think of Joggins, which is just up the road from where I live. Very Nova Scotia, even though it isn鈥檛. It depicts a handful of lost souls, cut adrift in geological time on a desolate, rocky beach at low tide, where they are collecting fossils 鈥
