The Faculty of Arts and Science has exchange agreements with more than 100 universities in over 30 countries. When you apply to the exchange program, you can list between 1 and 6 universities you would like to attend, depending on the program. The International Programs Office (IPO) reviews applications, assigns exchange placements, and nominates selected students to their host universities. Students then complete a separate application directly with the host university as the final step of the process.
Exchange placements are competitive, and each partner university has a limited number of available spots. Depending on the agreement, exchanges may last for one semester or a full academic year.
While on exchange, you continue to pay tuition to Queen鈥檚 and remain registered as a Queen鈥檚 student. You will also register as a visiting student at your host university. After completing your exchange, the credits you earn abroad are transferred back to your Queen鈥檚 degree, so participating in exchange does not usually extend the length of your studies.
