Funded by the Government of Canada, the Queen’s Indo-Pacific Scholarships and Fellowships Program supports international research placements at partner universities in a wider list of countries in the Indo-Pacific region, including India, Japan, Australia, Thailand, Vietnam, South Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, Malaysia, Indonesia, and New Zealand. The program is open to master’s students, PhD students, postdoctoral fellows, and faculty in engineering, computing, and the natural sciences.
NEW: interested Queen’s community members can apply for a 1 to 4-month international research placement taking place between July 2026 and February 2027. Applications are being reviewed on a rolling admissions basis.
Research projects must align with one of three themes that advance
Stream I — Development of Radiation-Resistant Materials and Advanced Functional Materials
Stream II — Engineering Solutions for Climate-Resilient Energy, Water, and Infrastructure
NEW: Stream III — Global Healthcare in the Digital Era
Beyond financial support, the program offers participants the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in world-class laboratories, collaborate with international researchers, and immerse themselves in new academic and cultural environments.
These placements can strengthen research programs, expand professional networks, and create new opportunities for future collaborations and career growth.
Congratulations to selected students, Emma Greenall, Madelyn Bratuz, Liam Smyth who are undertaking placements in Japan and Australia this Summer.
