Queen鈥檚 University is celebrating continued success in the Emerging Leaders in the Americas Program (ELAP) Faculty Mobility for Partnership Building (FMPB) program.
Two Queen鈥檚 faculty members Dr. Diana C贸rdoba (Faculty of Arts and Science) and Dr. Carlos Escobedo (Smith Engineering) have been selected for 2026-2027 ELAP Faculty Mobility and Partnership Building grants, which will support their travel and collaboration with partner institutions in Costa Rica and Colombia. The ELAP FMPB program has provided valuable opportunities for Queen鈥檚 faculty to build meaningful academic partnerships across Latin America and the Caribbean.
Dr. Diana C贸rdoba will work on her project, Territorial Co-Laboratory: Building Decolonial Partnerships between Colombia and Canada, at
project, Next-Generation Nanostructured Materials for New Bio-Remediation Strategies, will take him to the (LANOTEC), and (CeNAT).
Together, these projects exemplify Queen鈥檚 commitment to impactful global engagement and interdisciplinary research. The FMPB funding not only supports individual faculty initiatives but also strengthens institutional ties that can lead to lasting academic and societal benefits.
