I am a PhD student studying global histories of sexuality with Prof. Steven Maynard. My dissertation research examines the history of the HIV/AIDS crisis in Western Canada and its impact on queer lives, community organizing, and queer politics from the 1980s to 2012. The project also addresses how queer communities and activism intersected with settler colonialism, care work, homophobia, race, and class structures during this period.
