Rose Family MEERL Award

The Rose Family MEERL Award was established to help reduce financial barriers for professionals pursuing leadership opportunities through the Master of Earth and Energy Resources Leadership (MEERL) program at Queen’s University.

Established through the generosity of Michael Rose (BSc ’79) and Susan Riddell Rose (BSc ’86), the Rose Family MEERL Award reflects a shared belief in education, leadership, and the importance of developing future professionals in the natural resources sector.

A total of $30,000 will be distributed annually among successful applicants entering the MEERL program. Awards recognize financial need, leadership potential, resilience, and commitment to creating meaningful impact within the resource industry.

Eligibility

To be considered for the Rose Family MEERL Award, applicants must:

  • Apply to the August 2026 MEERL cohort
  • Demonstrate financial need
  • Demonstrate leadership potential and commitment to meaningful impact within the natural resources sector

Information about the award application process will be shared directly with eligible MEERL applicants following submission of their program application.
