The Museum’s art galleries normally show temporary exhibitions from their collection of Irish, British and international art.
 
The museum re-opened after extensive renovation work in October 2009 and includes a new entrance/reception area, learning zone, history and sciences galleries, a new rooftop display space and new gallery-based discovery areas.
