Named for two Irish language enthusiasts (the 19th century Presbyterian businessman Roibeard McAdam and 20th century Catholic Cardinal Tómas O Fiaich), An Cultúrlann is based in the one-time Broadway Presbyterian Church and is one of Belfast's most active Irish language centres.
As well housing a Tourist Information Centre, a bookshop, a theatre and a restaurant, the project runs an art gallery named after west Belfast’s most famous artist, Gerard Dillon.
Dillon was a self-taught painter born on the Falls Road, who after working as a painter and decorator, became a key figure in 20th century Irish art. The range of exhibitions, in many media, runs from the parochial to the international.
