Northern Ireland’s principal photography gallery, situated in a 19th century warehouse deep in the heart of the city’s cultural Cathedral Quarter, creates, curates and hosts exhibitions by both locally and internationally acclaimed photographers. The shows are usually accompanied by related discussions, talks and screenings.
Promoting photography as an art form by originating projects, the Gallery’s main emphasis is on the commissioning of new work and the production of publications. After years of largely community-based projects, initially in west Belfast, Belfast Exposed has amassed a unique archive of over half-a-million images of Belfast, an archive available for public access.
