Once the first flax spinning factory in west Belfast, Conway Mill is now an important location for the arts in Belfast. In the ground floor’s café-based Falls Fine Arts and Crafts Gallery, paintings hang from chains, echoing the building’s industrial origins. The art, mainly by Irish artists, ranges from animation stills to pen and pencil drawings and paintings. The striking Space Gallery on the third floor (lift available), hosts the work of emerging talents, of invited international artists and more particularly the creations of the Mill’s 22 resident artists and craft workers.
