Founded in 1993 in Belfast's Cathedral Quarter, this non-commercial artists’ collective gallery operates from the second floor of a converted industrial building in the city centre, on a tiny lane once named Squeeze-gut Entry running between College Street and Castle Street.
It offers space and support for local and international artists whose innovative projects cover a range of styles and mediums, including performance/time-based media, installation, painting, sculpture, video, photography and music.

Catalyst Arts is Belfast's primary non-profit artist led organisation, run by unpaid volunteers who are motivated by a passion for the arts and an intense interest in the cultural development of Belfast. Aside from programming and supporting art projects, Catalyst Arts also facilitates and programmes talks, seminars, screenings and music events.
